A Few Favourites

This Common Black Hawk was shot in Cuba in Cayo Guillermo. I would find it daily in the same area hunting for blue crabs.

Another Algonquin Park Moose shot. This calf was with its mother at the side of Hwy.60.

Shot on the Iberostar Hotel property in Cozumel. A great spot for photographing these critters.

Algonquin Park Moose

Friday off and up to the Park for some Moose viewing. I was hoping to see a Wolf but not this time. I did see a total of 8 Moose though, 5 along highway 60 corridor and 3 off the backroads. At one point I chased after a young bull after he took off into the bush. I stumbled upon an area with a large amount of Moose scat. I'll be checking that spot next time.

Black Crowned Night Herons

I took these shots at the Leslie Spit a few years back. Exotic looking birds who hunt at night.

I'm not up to date on my fungi but hopefully I'll get around to it soon. This was taken Thanksgiving weekend 2009

This shot was taken on a walk through the rainforest near Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica

Eastern Kingbird chicks (Tyrannus tyrannus) photographed at the Brickworks in Toronto Ontario

Common Black Hawk (Buteogallus anthracinus) photographed in Cuba

Northern Goshawk (Accipiter gentilis) This is one aggressive raptor! I stumbled upon its nesting area and literally had to dive to the forest floor several times having it just miss my head with each pass! Photographed north of Toronto Ontario
